One of the household chores I dislike the most happens to be cleaning those pesky window mini blinds. Every 3 months, I take mine down and give them a good cleaning.
For years I tried the static-remover cleaning brushes, microfiber cloths, dusting mitts and other things. They work, but they are time consuming. I just don’t have 6 hours of my day to spend on cleaning the mini blinds.
This morning I got up early and had my husband help me take down all 12 of our mini blinds. I filled up my bathtub with hot soapy water (liquid antibacterial dishwashing soap to be exact) and placed 6 of the mini blinds into the tub. I left them soak for 1 hour.
After they were done soaking, I drained the tub and took a wet microfiber cleaning cloth over them. I am fortunate enough that I have dual shower heads and one of them pulls down to a handheld nozzle. I then turned the water on high and rinsed the blinds down.
I was pleasantly surprised with the results. My hubby then took them outside and hung them over our clothesline to air dry.
This was a much faster and easier way of cleaning them than what I used to do in the past.
How do you like to clean your mini blinds? If you have any tips to share with us, please leave us a comment.
